Mount Fuji eraser with Shrine and Pink Cherry Blossoms
This is another great eraser set from Iwako, Mount Fuji eraser with Shrine and Pink Cherry Blossoms. A really nice Japanese landscape of Mount Fuji, Japan’s highest mountain at 3776 meters. Beside Mount Fuji is a small Japanese Shinto Shrine with the red Torii, a Japanese gate. And one of the best seasons to visit Japan and Mount Fuji is around end of March to early May when the cherry blossoms bloom, transforming the landscape to a sea of pink.
This is set number 32 out of a series of 41 omokeshi, short for おもしろいけしごむ – ‘omoshiroi keshigomi’ meaning ‘fun erasers’ from Iwako.
And like all Iwako erasers, they come apart into individual pieces that fit back together like a puzzle.

Again, back in the UK we call them rubbers.
I found out there is a another Mount Fuji eraser with Shrine eraser, however, the cherry blossom part is green and not pink.
The detail on the shrine is again amazing, and the finish of each part is clean. It certainly feels more like a small model set than an eraser set.
This eraser set will make a wonderful souvenir to bring home, and now that I have a few Iwako erasers, I will be adding this to my collection.
